Come and see the work of LYRIC: Lauderdale’s Young Research & Interpretation Collective and learn about local histories including the ‘Punk Subcultures of Camden’, ‘Local Working Men’s Socialist Groups,’ ‘Camden before Camden Market’ and more.
LYRIC is a new 8 week programme at Lauderdale House that offers local Sixth Form (16-17 year old) students the opportunity to choose their own local history topic and learn about research and archive methods under the guidance of educator and researcher, Jonathan Goddard.
The sessions included a talk from guest speaker Nadege Vidal-Forde about her research and processes, as well as a visit to the HLSI archive to understand more about handling primary sources.
LYRIC culminates with this exhibition of their work and a new series of podcasts on their chosen topics which will be featured on our website.
We are very proud of our first LYRIC cohort and hope you enjoy their refreshing research.
