Capturing water’s essence is always a challenge yet the collective F4 chose the theme of water with enthusiasm.
The resultant collaborative project exhibited here celebrates 20 years of working together and friendship. From the tranquil to the dynamic, from the straight to the abstract, and from the conventional to the experimental, their differing approaches complement each other and reflect the gentle and rugged British countryside as well as images from further afield.
F4 share a passion for photography and work professionally and semi-professionally within the industry. They have exhibited in the UK and abroad.
Sonia Hunt has been capturing the rich diversity of Britain’s coastline from the beauty of the heavily industrialised sites including Canvey Island, Redcar and the Hoo Peninsula.
Marion Davies is fascinated by the play of light on water and the challenge of capturing both its drama and peaceful reflections.
Yakir Zur looks at the way water interacts with the elements of earth and air and how its contradictory qualities of raw power versus stillness and tranquillity affect its surroundings.
Caroline Rooke draws upon the nature of water to express key components of her meditation practice, such as the dynamic interplay of light, time and breath.
