Take a step back in time at our annual Heritage Weekend - the perfect opportunity to discover the fascinating and diverse history of Lauderdale House, Waterlow Park, Highgate and the surrounding areas.

On Saturday 22 February, we celebrate Highgate's fascinating history with our local Heritage Fair and special talks under the theme of Living Communities: Building on the Past. And on Sunday 23 February, we invite children and their families to explore the house and discover its secrets at our Heritage Family Day!

Heritage Fair
12pm to 5pm | Free

Drop in and meet representatives from local museums, historic houses and local history societies find out more about the history of our local area. We are also hosting a special stall featuring the work of Lauderdale's Young Research & Interpretation Collective, where you can learn about the research of our inaugural cohort of young scholars.

Heritage Talk: Building on the Past
2pm | Free

Join us as we learn about heritage sustainability and the social impact of historical community buildings by looking at three local projects: the recently completed Highgate Library, Chester Road, the ongoing Highgate Cemetery development and the campaign to renovate the Hall for All, Acland Burghley.

Heritage Talk: Communities: Living History

Don't miss this deep dive into the architecture and community life of two local estates - Holly Lodge and the White Flats on the Whittington Estate, featuring excepts from 'The White Flats' and 'Birdsong and a Bathroom' films and an accompanying Q&A.
