The members range from those new to the art and practice of photography to those who have attained recognition from the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) or the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB). Most members are amateurs, and images are mainly taken on digital cameras or smart phones. However, other methods ranging from film, analogue and cameraless photography have been explored by some members.
For the MHPS photographers, printing images is important. As the final process in the journey from inception to completion, photographs allow the MHPS to communicate to their audience on a more permanent basis than via digital media.
You can expect to see around 60 framed and mounted prints covering many styles and ranging across subjects from travel to portraiture, wildlife to abstracts and much more. They hope that you enjoy the work.
MHPS normally meets on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm at the Friends Meeting House, 77 Church Crescent N10 3NE with occasional zoom meetings. To learn more about the Muswell Hill Photographic Society and their work, please visit the MHPS website or Instagram page.
