Following our incredible refurbishment in 2016 we want as many people as possible to enjoy this beautiful historic house.
We aspire to filling each gallery and room with fun, creative and educational activities for everyone from early morning to late evening. We want to be out and about in the locality making new friends and giving people new opportunities to enjoy heritage and creativity.
We need your support to realise this dream. Funds are needed to:
By helping us you become part of the ‘Lauderdale Family’ and can be confident that you are making a real difference.
Opening the Doors introduces children and teenagers to artists of all kinds (drama, poetry, visual art, etc) in school and recreational settings, opening their minds and lives to new possibilities.
Many of these children and teenagers come from deprived backgrounds and/or are facing obstacles in their lives, so do not have the extra opportunities given to children at private schools or those with full support at home.
The projects seek to help fill this gap and give them confidence, improve their communication and problem solving skills, exercise their imagination, encourage them to have fun, help them learn in new ways, connect them with their broader communities and in the long term will help improve their employability.
The programme is intensive and we need £55,000 each year to keep it going.
Consider leaving a gift to Lauderdale House in your will! To find out more about this, please talk to the Director Katherine Ives on 020 8348 8716.
We have been lucky enough to receive significant donations from over 400 individuals and numerous trusts, foundations and government funding bodies to realise our dreams to ‘transform’ Lauderdale House in 2016 and create our exciting arts and heritage outreach programme, Opening the Doors.
Their support has made an immense difference, ensuring the preservation of this unique Tudor house and allowing us to bring arts, heritage and education to an ever increasing number of people.
Our thanks to everyone who has contributed. Individual names will be added in 2019. Major funders are listed below:
