Creative Writing

Get inspired, write a short story, get going with a novel…

The aim of Creative Writing for Beginners is to generate ideas and get you writing! We'll focus on a different aspect of the fiction writing process every week, such as character, plot, place, point of view and style, and you'll do writing exercises in class and at home. By the end of the ten-week course, you'll have produced a short story or section from a novel, which you'll receive peer and tutor feedback on.

Priscilla Morris has an MA with Distinction and a PhD in Creative Writing from the renowned school of Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. She’s taught creative writing and literature at Kingston University and UEA for the past five years. Before that, she taught academic English and English as a foreign language in England, Spain and Brazil. She read Italian, Spanish and Social Anthropology at Cambridge University.

Priscilla’s an emerging writer in residence at Kingston University. She lives in North London. She’s currently finishing her first novel, which is about love, war, art and loss and is set during the 1990s siege of Sarajevo.
